This past week has been so screwed up. I've been working on my final art piece that everything else sorta went to hell while I was doing it. So Ruth asked could she have an extension for her music essay and Ms. Herron said that she'd have to give me one too. I agreed that it would be useful and told her I'd been working on my art. She said that if she had been Mrs. Palmer would I have worked harder?
It had nothing to do with that. My art was meant to be in last Friday so Mrs. Palmer could mark the piece and send away marks to an examining board...
And then we were in English today, reading Henry James' "Turn of the Screw" and discussing the Victorian attitudes to children and death compared to modern day attitudes. So we all talked about death and funerals and seeing dead bodies with the effect that can have on a person.
Some of the stuff was so sad, my eyes watered. And then Danny talked about his granny who died last week...In his arms.
And then he talked about how everyone in the room was breathing in time with his granny and then when she stopped, they all stopped, waiting for her to breathe again. I swear Jenni and I were almost crying. So were most of the class I think.
God, it was heartbreaking. And just the way he talked about it, so calm and easily...
Enough with the angst! I'll have you all on anti-depressants..or even MORE anti-depressants! ^_-
My birthday trip, to Lord of the Rings, is astronomical! There are 13 people trapsing up to Belfast. What fun! And I'm gonna have straight hair that day, so I shall take many of the photographs.
Y'know whenever you get that sense of anticipation whenever you've gotta good book to read and can't wait to read it? Well, that's how I feel about Echoes of Thunder. I can't wait to read it...now I just have to find time in my busy schedule!!
