Look - I am alive! Yes, my friends, fear not - I have survived the vast plains of Japanada and have only a few more days here tragically! Am also ridiculously broke. :( This is not the best start to international travels!

So this is a short message to let you lot know that I am OK and enjoying myself and I hit the States on the 4th of Februrary. However, because I am retarded, I require help. Oh yes, I am of the special.

I need help finding somewhere to crash in LA for a few days until I can find a job that hopefully includes a space to stay in. I've got my godmother's nephew who lives in LA who's going to help me out finding a job, me thinks and with picking me up from the airport but! I need help. Does anyone have any suggestions? Comments? Mockery? I accept all!

I don't know how well this works in LA, but I know that in MN at the least, anywhere you'd work, even if they would hire you for such a short time, wouldn't be able to get a check to you for almost three or four weeks. HOWEVER, if you can find a restaurant to work at, you can still make tips instantly, and eventually have a check sent somewhere where you can try and then cash it.

I am going to ask a friend of mine who is in LA what she suggests.

Also other ways of getting money are to sell stuff on eBay and to donate blood. And then, there's always prostitution!

Damn! I have lots of friends/family in Cali, but none who are near LA to offer help/recommendations. :/

As to work, if ya need advice there and need money quickly, try browsing the famous http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html. It has specific city-listings, including one for LA at http://losangeles.craigslist.org/.

You can often find dei-labour that pays BY the dei since they're usually one-shot jobs. A lot of it is stuff like modeling or other casting calls, but if that's not your scene, you can hopefully find other projects as well to take part in. :3 Just be cautious of who you reply to, and don't go to a potential job site alone if you can help it--you know, standard procedure for any other other job research.
