Question. I've just got a tablet, from beautiful Charlie, and I was wondering what's a good art program to use? Where can I download a program from?

There's usually a program that will come with a tablet. I have Corel Painter Essentials 2, and another good is Open Canvas or even Photoshop. Depending on what you like/can afford/ or what you'll be okay with downloading on trials every 30 days or so. Since art programs are expensive.

I use Painter IX by Corel. Depending on your moral standing of pirated software, it's likely I can hook you up. [I bought Painter VIII with my own good money, so part of me is like "Yeah, it's okay to have an illegal copy of an upgrade..."]

My favorite is Photoshop, but for starters I'd recommend Open Canvas. It's not a huge download if you can find it, and it's fun to doodle in. :D

I would recommend Paint Shop Pro for drawing with...I dunno what the latest version is XD~ But you can download free trials all over the 'net.. then it's just a case of finding a crack. *ahem* Goodluck!

XD... Photoshop is good too ¬_¬ though it's designed more towards the manipulation of photos (hence the name...) than starting them from scratch ^o^

I've got a program called Alias Sketchbook Pro that I love. It's a lot like drawing on paper. You're limited, though, in that it doesn't have a straight line tool or things like that. It's cheaper than most art programs, though.
