And once again I have an essay due in~!
This time on Henry James and "The Turn of the Screw" (one of my secretly favourite novellas ♥ ) except that I keep rambling because, wow there's so much I want to talk about with regards "Turn" and sexuality and genre and the innocence of children and madness and hinting at things that may or may not be there (surely there's a better literary term for that?!) and ambiguity and so on.
Except that the question's on sexuality. Sexuality Kathryn!
"I saw the human soul [...] in a dew of sweat on a perfect childish forehead." (The Turn of the Screw p.257) What, in your view, is the most striking about James's use of prose narrative to illustrate childhood and/or sexuality in "The Turn Of The Screw"?
^- That's pretty much the question. I think I've misremembered the quote, but hey, even my potential tattoo is a misremembered quote. ^_~
Thus! I will probably be posting my essay up tonight with the BURNING DESIRE AND NEED for someone to read it and/or tell me where I'm going wrong or what I'm doing right. Please?
Right - the library closes in, like, 4 hours so I should get myself into gear.
